LiPos become "sluggish" at cold temperatures in the chemical reaction and therefore it seems they have no power left. However, as the temperature decreases, so does the performance, and the discharge rate must take this into account. Who overlooks that is very fast in the overload (too low voltage dips) of the battery and thus harms the life expectancy. If a battery is below 18 °C, the recommended discharge rate drops significantly. In addition, it must be expected that the full capacity is no longer available and the flight time is noticeably reduced. Ultimately, the batteries are hardly to use at these temperatures. If you still want to work with high current loads, preheating the batteries is essential.

At temperatures below 18° Celsius, LiPo batteries, such as the DJI Phantom Drone, Mavic or Inspire Drone, should be preheated to 35° Celsius.
